‘The Secret Life of Pets' was a pretty average animated film whose "what do our pets get up to when we're not around" premise made it relatable, funny and charming to pet owners/lovers. The sequel has practically nothing to do with its title anymore (you can only pull that trick once, after all) and loses anything that made it somewhat original. Now we're into very familiar animated-animal territory that we've all seen many times before. Sure, there are some good messages (albeit very standard stuff) and a few things that'll probably make you smile, but for the most part, as with its predecessor, it's not particularly memorable and, in fact, the most stand-out thing is the colourful animation (the backgrounds are lovely) and character design. In short, kids might enjoy it and there are a few moments that might catch your attention, but for most adults, there's not much here.

If DVDs were still a thing this would have been straight to DVD.

An energetic and funny movie with a sweet life lesson! Excellent movie to see with the family. The animation quality is flawless and stylistically interesting. And Kevin Hart definitely stole the show with his funny scenes. Harrison Ford also had a great performance as Rooster. A very nice movie to warm you up and make you smile!

This movie felt very, very forced. It seemed as though the directors wanted to create an interesting movie(because the first one was such a hit), but you don't need to watch a lot of the movie to understand it. The screenplay was out of whack, it did not flow very well together. The movie did not have a purpose except to see the main character grow into a brave dog, which is fine but the movie is too boring, to watch the character develop it needed a deeper meaning than that. I enjoyed the role that Kevin Hart played in Pets 2, it fit him exquisitely. The chemistry even in simply the voices between Kevin Hart, and Tiffany Haddish was enjoyable to watch. I also liked the wise father figure Harrison Ford played. A group of people that would enjoy this movie would be people that have children and want the movie to entertain them and keep them occupied for an hour and twenty minutes. Other than that, don't watch this movie, it would be a waste of your time if you want a movie that is filled with true action.

This was pretty good. I'm not usually a fan of animated films especially not kids animated films. But I liked the first one and this seemed to hold par compared to its predecessor. Well done.
