Steven Universe: The Movie

When I started watching this series, I never would have dreamed of comparing it to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but here we are.

Steven Universe: The Movie is as much an ode to the value of growing and changing as it is a celebration of the series.

This movie takes all the great moments a 160-episode series has created in 11-minute chunks and mixes them all together reaching new heights in a full-length film.

Everything in Steven Universe: The Movie will seem familiar, but only because that's the film's entire purpose. There is a newfound maturity that the show promises with this film; a glimpse into the new direction the show will take when it returns.

A 90-minute love letter to the medium of animation and a great introduction to newcomers as to what makes 'Steven Universe' so special.

While this isn't the last we'll see of the Crystal Gems, it's hard to imagine any better closure.

Steven Universe: The Movie is an incredible work of art that combines eclectic, amazing musical numbers with striking illustrations and breathtaking animation to outdo anything the franchise has attempted before.

You can see by the movie's end that the Crewniverse could very well have more than a few more ideas about what the future holds for the Crystal Gems.

Steven Universe: The Movie is what the world needs right now. Everyone should see this. After viewing it you can't help but feel love not only yourself but for others as well.
