This movie was amazing are you kidding? I think I got the point of it. The ending was perfect.

'Monday', directed by Argyris Papadimitropoulos, is a captivating tsunami of passion and romance set across the sunny islands of Greece. The film premiered on September 11th at the Toronto International Film Festival as a part of TIFF Industry Selects. 'Monday' was then acquired by IFC Films and set the film for an April 16th release. Chloe Gains (Denise Gough) is an American lawyer who is currently living and working in Greece. One night at a party, she meets Mickey (Sebastian Stan), a fellow American who's called Greece home for the past seven years. The next time we see either of them is when they've awoken stark naked on a beach, the balmy sun glaring down upon them. Their one passionate night begins an intense romance that indefinitely postpones Chloe's return to the US. As their romance blossoms, viewers are taken on an immersive, modern journey. Sebastian Stan takes a break from the MCU to bring the character of Mickey to the screen. Mickey is a reckless, charming DJ, a contrast to Denise Gough's character Chloe, a sharp, strong-minded immigration lawyer who is as pleasure-hungry as Mickey. Both Stan and Gough give strong performances throughout the 116 minutes. Once these two contrasting individuals move in together, red flags fill the screen. One of these red flags could be the fact Mickey has a six-year-old son whom viewers never actually meet, probably due to the fact Mickey doesn't have a good rapport with the child's mother. It also becomes apparent that before they met, these two people ran in opposite crowds: Chloe's friends are upper-class, sumptuous people, whereas Mickey's friends are boyish blue-collar workers. The dynamic between these two characters is nothing you wouldn't have seen before; two dysfunctional, self-destructive people who fall into a blossoming romance with each other. But Papadimitropoulos manages to put a fresh, unique twist on it, albeit an R-rated twist that includes heavy nudity and drug use. The gorgeous islands of Greece are the perfect backdrop for this relationship to flourish. Hristos Karamanis provides cinematography that gives the film a contemporary, modern atmosphere and the handheld shots throughout create an almost immersive feel for the viewer. Everything about the film emits a sense of genuineness and simplicity. The interactions between Stan and Gough, whether it be the lustful sex scenes or drug-fuelled moped rides, feel so natural and unforced. 'Monday' is one of those films that radiates an overwhelming sense of honesty and openness on screen. Filming on location gives the film another layer of authenticity. The film shows viewers that the 'honeymoon phase' of a relationship doesn't last forever. Chloe and Mickey's once fiery affair broils down to a domestic romance - Chloe is the thing that inspires Mickey to enter the next stage of his life. Papadimitropoulos gives viewers a charming, failed rom-com that features strong performances throughout and a fresh dynamic. Films like 'Newness' and '6 Years' fall onto the same shelf as 'Monday', a passionate romance fuelled by the attraction between two people.

I cannot understand why the director decided to make a movie about this couple. There was nothing new or exciting about them. I did not like the film at all. Plus the acting was not impressive either.

The first 25-30 minutes were a struggle for me but after that it got good even though the ending could have been better.

Sebastian Stan is a great actor but the movie is just mediocre.

2.5 out of 5 stars. Monday is a pretty bad drama film that tries to play as a romantic drama of two characters that meet in Athens. And they cant seem to be apart from each other. Great cast with the likables of Sebastian Stan and Denise Gough. The story and direction can barely go on for so long without losing its steam and ideas. Half way through the film it falls flat and seemed nearly pointless throughout.

It was tumultuous and the ending was frustrating.

It was an ok film. It's basically a movie about two people in an unhealthy relationship who learn nothing from their mistakes. It's frustrating, but honest. I found myself rooting for either of them (but mostly Chloe) to wake up and leave.
