Oh my Gosh,I love this movie so much, such a beautiful adaptation of the beloved Broadway show and loved to see Christopher Jackson and Lin-Manuel Miranda have cameos in this version! I loved Lin SO much as Usnavi but I think Anthony Ramos did a great job too!The emotion and love in this whole thing is really moving and inspirational (like Hamilton)A MUST SEE

I am second to none in my appreciation of the number of musicals that are being transferred from stage to screen, particularly considering that I don't live in an area with lots of choices for live theater. Although a box office disappointment, critics waxed rhapsodic over this adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony-winning predecessor to HAMILTON, so my anticipation was high. Sadly, this is one of those occasions where I can totally understand the praise bestowed, but it's just not my cup of tea. Miranda is obviously considered the current genius of musical theater, but with all due respect, I'm not a fan of his type of music. I'm in awe of someone who can write the way he does, but it's not aesthetically pleasing for me. And in a movie filled to the brim with music, that's a problem. I can't find much fault elsewhere. The cast is enthusiastic and energetic, most of the production numbers are well choreographed and produced and there's undoubtedly a lot here to like. But because of my distance from the music, I found it difficult to care much about what was happening within the movie. Perhaps it's a lazy comparison, but the best way I can think of to explain my opinion is sushi. Some people love sushi and could eat it daily. Others can appreciate the art and technique of what goes into making sushi, but it's not something they find appetizing. I love sushi - unfortunately I don't love IN THE HEIGHTS.

This movie is massively overrated. Very dull and easily forgettable plot. Non-sympathetic love story. Very primitive and unpoetic lyrics in the songs. I do not get the fuss and excitement unless it's all about a PC token.

Prepare for singing and dancing in the streets of Washington Heights! As a young puerto rican man attempts to follow his dreams, he soon starts to question if he truly wishes to leave behind his friends and families on the block. Shot in vivid spectacle and impressive choreography, this diverse cast of dancers manage to move their way into our hearts and our minds!

Some of the new material is inserted into the existing narrative in some very clunky ways, however at its best the movie is just as vibrant and emotional as the original stage production.

I like musicals as much as the next guy but the songs are way too long 👎🏻 just ruins any chance of the movie being good.

Love this movie! Jon M. Chu brings this charming, vibrant musical to the big screen with an excellent ensemble. It's a musical about community, love, family and dreams. A must-see!
