I can understand the political reasons why people liked this movie about dirty cops and a black hero cop but it was quite ordinary and didn't give me any of the thrills promised. It was plain boring.

Two small time crooks expecting a small manageable score come across something so much bigger in a disasterous armed robbery that leads to the death of several cops. Enter stage NYPD Detective Andre Davis, a man known for his no holds barred methods in hunting down those escaping justice, especially anyone who might be accused of killing cops given his own father was killed during a botched robbery. In order to catch his men he shuts down Manhattan completely , insuring no one can escape the island and so begins a desperate man hunt until a greater conspiracy comes to light and Andre realises he maybe fighting on the wrong side. 21 Bridges is a fairly decent crime thriller, it's fast paced and action packed and never lets up in the chase. On the downside, it was a little predictable, you can see early on who is behind the nefarious goings on in the shadows. Chadwick Bossman is a good lead, his supects are both played out well and the film as a whole has an interesting feel of a modern day thriller and a 70's detective noir mash-up. Worth watching for an entertaining couple of hours but no surprises from your usual standard cop thriller.

21 Bridges stars Chadwick Boseman, Stephan James, Sienna Miller and J.K. Simmons and it's a mix between a thriller and action movie about two men that were sent to steal 30 kilograms of cocaine but they end up getting 300. This movie ended a bit flat to me, infact the strory takes an unexpected turn at one point in the mvoie, and after that I didn't feel invested into the movie at all. The first and second acts are good enough, but I lost it towards the third act. Maybe that's just me, some people will probably like it. Also for me the characters felt very one dimensional and bland, really. The only moments of character development we get in the movie are just at the start and maybe a little bit in the second act and only a line of dialogue in the third act, but that's it. I would have wished this movie to be longer, it's only 99 minutes, and that's not much for a thriller. And considering it lacks character development it had to be longer. Well, in the end 21 Bridges is a pretty interesting concept but not pulled off too well for me.

A bit predictable, but definitely still worth a watch! was entertained and enjoyed Chadwick Boseman’s performance. Despite predictability, I don’t think I’d say it’s a cliche action movie. The action was modest and honestly believable. Didn’t really seem super farfetched.

Some neato throwback vibes in this moderately enjoyable and very predictable crime thriller.

I've seen a few other "crooks vs crooked cops" movies, the others that come to mind also involved the NYPD. There's always the good cop thrown into the middle of it all, this one played by Chadwick Boseman. It's good, if not a bit predictable since it ends the same way those others did. Oh, and it's also another movie that I can point out that gets the NYC geography wrong. I've been there four times, I can imagine what a native New Yorker must think watching these goofs, hah.

I found the movie a very simple cop movie, a bit predictable at times.

Being a police thriller, 21 Bridges does not impact as much, only in the climax, along with the good performances of Chadwick Boseman and Sienna Miller.
